Souderton Area School District finds an integrated broadcast and streaming solution that's both affordable and feature-rich with Leightronix

Wanting to expand their cable audience and reach those who may live outside the district's parameters, the Souderton Area School District began looking for a streaming-on-demand solution. For the district video production specialist, Henry Franz, it was important that the school's new online presence was one that integrated well with the district's broadcast workflow. "The district was interested in reaching out and communicating online as a means to better inform the community, " Franz said.

The station contacted Applied Video Technology (AVT), a systems integration company in Malvern, PA, in hopes of finding an integrated solution through a company they could trust. Having had a relationship with the district for over 15 years, AVT was able to assess the type of workflow the new streaming service would need to have to provide a streamline solution for the station. We've seen a lot of the Souderton Area School District's growth over the years, but it's still always our policy to define what a customer's goals are before recommending a solution," said Bruce MacLelland, AVT CEO.

After considering what type of equipment Souderton already owned and their existing workflow, the UltraNEXUS digital broadcast server from Leightronix was recommended to the educational access station. Having worked hand in hand with Leightronix on other solutions, MacLelland knew the UltraNEXUS digital video server would provide an integrated solution for Franz. "PEG Central and the UltraNEXUS is more that just a digital server and streaming service. Every component is linked together to create a full integrated solution." said MacLelland.

The end result was the Souderton Area School District gaining more viewership without having to allocate more time maintaining an online presence using PEG Central, the Leightronix hosted streaming video-on-demand service.
