WHYY-TV

WHYY-TV, based in Philadelphia and one of the country’s largest and most respected PBS affiliates, began planning a major HD upgrade several years ago. Consulting with AVT, the station considered all current technology and workflow options. In the summer of 2007 it was decided to move to the Sony XDCAM HD format for acquisition and Avid Adrenaline HD editing systems for post production. AVT provided and installed five Adrenaline systems, each with Sony XDCAM F-70 decks and Sony HD LUMA monitors. XDCAM F-350 camcorders provided acquisition.

Installations were completed at both the Philadelphia and Wilmington WHYY locations and included integrated storage and workflow design with other in-house technology. WHYY has dramatically improved not only the quality of their content, but also enjoyed workflow improvements for their programming.
