The Prez Says...January Edition
It is with sincere gratitude to you, our loyal customers, which have allowed Applied Video Technology (AVT) to continue to grow.
2013 was a great growth year for AVT. We added to our engineering staff, our project management staff, and administration and sales staffs. We created a new service department that is dedicated to solving our customers' technical problems in a quick and efficient manner. We also opened a new media content division, Phoenix Media Group (PMG), to add media production and management services to complement our integration offerings.
In keeping with AVT's growth pattern over the past six years, 2013 had a double digit sales growth. This sales growth is attributed to our high customer satisfaction ratings. AVT also maintained InfoComm CAVSP Emerald status for 2013. This level means that over 35 percent of all technical, sales, and customer service staff has achieved CTS certification through InfoComm Academy course completion.
Throughout 2013 AVT worked with K-12 schools, colleges and universities, corporations, architects, and construction firms to provide improved communications to the Mid-Atlantic region. We have focused on consulting, design, integration, and support in building end-to-end media networks. Our motto is: we help people make, manage, and move media.
As we dive into 2014, we see emerging and maturing technologies that will affect how customers will communicate.
Video Production - 4K image quality will become required viewing. Once people see the crispness and clarity that 4K can provide, you'll want to implement it in your video production application.
Mobile Video Production Systems - Portable & powerful mobiile video production systems add flexibility and versatility. An integrated TV studio "on wheels" like the AVT VidCaster makes sense for today's live media productions.
Manage Your Own TV Network - Start your own TV Network, with your own channels. Create and manage your own compelling content and create revenue that you keep (not 3rd parties). Check out Voxipop TV - it's a low cost solution for Video-On-Demand and live streaming
Display Technology - Displays keep getting better and better. Smaller bezels, thinner screens, bigger glass, and lower power consumption add up to eye catching displays. Add in a dose of powerful digital signage and your content is easily managed and updated
Touch and Teach Classrooms - AVT offers a custom AV Grant program to qualified K-12 schools. These schools can receive a fully installed, state-of-the-art interactive short-throw proejctor, whiteboard/screen, switcher, sound, and control system for little or no cost. These classrooms are a great way to fully understand how it works before you buy.
Interactive Short-throw Projectors - These projectors have made any surface interactive, which makes the previous interactive whiteboards seem obsolete. The projectors are half the cost of the interactive whiteboards, make images over 100" big, and don't create shadows when the teacher or presenter uses them. Plus you can add your favorite Smart or Promethean classroom software for curriculum.
Networked Media - Classrooms are active media end points. They need quick access to a world of media content to be able to view school programs such as athletic, theatre, or choral events as well as cable TV, and curriculum. The best way for schools to manage and deliver this content is through their own IP media network.
2014 will be an exciting time for AVT and PMG. PMG recently opened a new TV studio and production facility in Kimberton, PA. In March, AVT will be moving from Malvern to Kimberton so we'll be across the street from the TV studio. AVT has renovated a 124-year-old livery stable and turned it into AVT's new headquarters. AVT will continue to offer informative workflow seminars as we have for the past 18 years. Thank you again for your patronage and we hope to see you at our new headquarters latre this year!
