As collegiate esports programs continue to grow, universities are investing in professional production environments that allow competitions to be streamed and shared with audiences everywhere. East Stroudsburg University (ESU) partnered with Applied Video Technology (AVT) to transform an existing racquetball and squash court into a modern esports production facility capable of supporting live broadcasts and competitive gameplay.

Working closely with ESU’s Campus Recreation & Wellness team and IT department, AVT designed and installed a fully integrated system that connects gaming systems, cameras, audio, and production tools into a streamlined broadcast workflow. At the center of the system is a Vizrt TriCaster live production platform, allowing operators to switch multiple video sources, add graphics, and produce professional livestreams in real time.

The system uses an NDI-based video network to connect gaming PCs, consoles, and cameras, making it easy to route video throughout the facility for live production and streaming. Clear audio, intuitive controls, and flexible system design ensure the space can support everything from student competitions to larger esports events.
To ensure long-term success, AVT also provided training so ESU staff can confidently operate the system and manage live productions.
The new facility gives East Stroudsburg University the ability to livestream esports competitions and share them with a global audience while also providing students hands-on experience with real world broadcast technology.
Robert Smith, Chief Information and Technology Officer at ESU, shared:
“We have been using AVT for over 10 years and it’s always a pleasure to work with them. We would continue to recommend their AV services. The new space allows ESU Esports to livestream competitors and broadcast to a global audience.”
With this new esports arena, ESU has created a space where competition, technology, and media production come together giving students and fans a professional esports experience powered by AVT.
