Rowan College of South Jersey

Gloucester County Institute of Technology Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Science Building

Applied Video Technology, Inc. (AVT) was contracted by Rowan College of South Jersey to provide and install AV and control systems at the Gloucester Campus.

Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) has been working with Applied Video Technology for almost 10 years so when it was time for an exciting new project between the College and the Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) they turned to AVT right away. The project is the first of its kind in the state of New Jersey where a Community College and Technical High School are working together to focus on creating training for high skilled manufacturing jobs at both the high school and college level. The hope is to create a precedent for other counties in the State to follow to create similiar training opportunities for students to learn the types of skills needed to secure careers in the advanced manufacturing field. The technology for this building was unique because of the redundant systems that were needed for each room. Each space needed to be programmed to meet the needs of the GCIT high school classes during the day and the RCSJ college classes during the evening. The project consisted of 5 classrooms, several teaching labs, a cafeteria, and a conference room.

“AVT worked with us from the very beginning and was an integral part of the project from looking at initial blueprints, the design and specs for the building wide technology, onsite installation, project management, programming and training. AVT even worked with the local municipality to secure all the low voltage building permits. AVT meets all our AV needs on campus from pre-sales to working with their account manager, sales engineer, and project manager. ”
