THE COLONIAL THEATRE

The Expansion & Renovation of the Historic Colonial Theatre

001-Colonial-Exterior-1100x500.jpg

With the renovation and expansion of The Historic Colonial Theater to add two new theaters, a new lobby, and Mezzanine multi-purpose area, the Theater needed to provide a fully professional Audio and Video System for the multitude of events held at this community landmark each year. The 658-seat Colonial Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Phoenixville, PA. Opened in 1903, the Colonial is the last surviving of four theatres once existing in the borough and is the only theatre of its kind in Chester County.

Applied Video Technology provided a first class, professionally installed, performance tested Audio and Video System for use for DCI Cinema Film Presentations, Drama/Theater Events, Live Music Events, Public Speaking Events, Comedy Events and AV Presentations in two new theaters, the new lobby and the Mezzanine. The new systems were comprised of built in and portable audio video systems suitable for various types of events, sound systems capable of speech reinforcement and playback, a 2 x 2 Video Wall comprised of four 60” video displays and a Multi-Purpose Room with a complete AV presentation system. Throughout the renovation and AV system installation, AVT interfaced on a regular basis with the Owner, Carnevale Eustis Architects, Inc., KMK Technologies, LLC and construction firm Caldwell, Heckles & Egan, Inc.
