How RCSJ and GCIT Partnered with AVT to Build a Shared Training Environment
At the Gloucester campus of Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), a new era of hands-on learning is taking shape one built on collaboration, technology, and real-world application. When RCSJ and the Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) launched their joint Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Technology program, they envisioned a space where high school and college students could learn side by side using the same cutting-edge systems found in modern manufacturing facilities.
To make that vision possible, they turned to Applied Video Technology (AVT)Â for a full scale audio, video, and control solution that would enhance communication, collaboration, and instruction throughout the new training facility.
A Shared Space Built for Real-World Learning
The joint RCSJ-GCIT program was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and career readiness. The challenge was creating a flexible AV infrastructure that could serve both institutions and a range of teaching styles without adding operational complexity.
AVT worked closely with project stakeholders to design and install a reliable, intuitive, and future-ready AV system across the facility’s classrooms, labs, and meeting spaces. The goal: ensure every instructor and student could easily connect, share, and learn whether they were presenting from a lectern or collaborating on a design project.
AVT’s Solution
AVT provided comprehensive design, installation, and commissioning services for the new spaces, including:
Integrated AV and control systems to support both instructional and technical training environments.
Seamless video routing and display capabilities for sharing content across rooms and workstations.
Intuitive user interfaces that allow staff and instructors to operate technology with confidence.
Reliable system performance built on proven hardware and AV standards for long-term sustainability.
Every detail from cable management to touchscreen control was implemented with AVT’s people first approach: systems that are practical, serviceable, and ready to work the first time.
Results That Work in the Real World
The completed facility now supports a wide range of instructional scenarios, from individual training modules to full class demonstrations and group collaboration. Teachers and administrators can easily switch between sources, share content across multiple displays, and adjust room configurations to match their curriculum needs.
Most importantly, the AV technology now matches the high standards of the program itself giving students the tools and experience they’ll encounter in today’s advanced manufacturing environments.
Building Partnerships That Last
For AVT, success goes beyond system performance. It’s about supporting institutions like RCSJ and GCIT as they prepare students for success in high-demand industries. Through proactive communication, hands-on collaboration, and trusted in-house expertise, AVT delivered a system that empowers both schools to focus on what matters most teaching, learning, and growth.
